On March 2, 2024, DesignAgency joined partners Peter Freed, of Freed Developments, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, SBE Hospitality with Chef Katsuya Uechi and guest of honour, Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, to celebrate the launch of Freed Hotel & Residences along with the fashion, design, music and real estate glitterati of Toronto and beyond.
The 63-storey tower will feature Canada’s first location of SBE’s famed Katsuya restaurant, and Murakami’s artwork “Together with the Flower Parent and Child”, 2021-2022 will take pride of place in the finished lobby. Interiors by DesignAgency will communicate transformational luxury through innovative use of materials, silhouettes, space and light.
The launch event began with an exclusive VIP dinner of Katsuya specialties and was followed by a packed party that pulsed well into the night.
