The objective was to create a five-star luxury all-inclusive resort that provides a wealth of cultural and artful experiences within the existing site conditions and vegetation in an environmentally sensitive way. We are working alongside landscape architecture firm EDSA and Fab Studios Architecture have just revealed the design for Pellas Development. About an hour from Liberia Airport, and just south of Nicaragua, the 5.3-hectare property at Costa Elena cascades from the hillside forest to the beach. A series of light, modern pavilions, crafted from minimalist but resilient, natural indigenous materials, wind down the naturally sloping topography, flowing easily from interior to exterior. The program includes a covered, open-air arrival pavilion; at the centre of the resort, “The Grove” – a cluster of buildings consisting of an open air bar lounge; as well as a cafe and boutique, a restaurant, a covered activity lounge, and the resorts fitness centre, which can easily convert into a large private event space.
Our role in this project is lead on the master design team with a focus on guest journey, guest experience and interiors.
